Johana Vicente


Johana Vicente is a Senior Strategist for López-Wagner Strategies. Johana Vicente is a proud Ecuadorian immigrant and a leader in the environmental movement.
Throughout her career, Johana has been a fierce advocate for climate justice solutions that center the leadership of people of color and result in equitable outcomes. Her extensive expertise includes community organizing and mobilizing, advocacy, coalition building, program, team and project management, planning, and institutional fundraising.

Johana has worked to develop programs and campaigns to organize local communities to advocate for community-led climate solutions. In recent years, her advocacy work has focused on clean, heavy-duty transportation advocacy, particularly school bus electrification. This has included campaign planning and execution and coalition building to ensure that local, state, and federal governments prioritize the health of low-income communities of color. Johana has also focused on program overall management to ensure success and sustainability, including fundraising, budget management, team development, and effective planning and implementation.

Johana and her family moved to the United States from Loja, Ecuador, at age 12 and currently reside in Montgomery County, Maryland.
